We encourage everyone to hold a wedding ceremony here at the
Willoughby Municipal Court
4000 Erie Street. Willoughby, Ohio 44094
Our court only holds weddings on Mondays between 10:30am-12pm. In order to have a marriage ceremony you will need to obtain a marriage license from the Lake County Probate Court. They are valid for 60 days, so we recommend you schedule your wedding date with us before obtaining your marriage license as we are very limited on available dates.
On the day of your ceremony, please arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled time and check in at the front Civil window. Both parties will need to bring a valid photo ID, as well as the entire wedding packet/marriage license you receive from the Probate Court. The cost is $50 cash, check, or you may pay with a card for an additional $5 processing fee.
A limited number of guests are permitted.

Although we hold wedding ceremonies, we do NOT carry marriage license records. In order to obtain a copy of your marriage license, please contact the Probate Court where you obtained the original.
