The Clerk of Court is responsible for maintaining and safeguarding Court records. The office is also responsible for the monetary transactions of the Court. Public monies are receipted and disbursed to public entities on a monthly basis in compliance with statutory requirements. The office operates in compliance with all statutory mandates and auditing regulations. The operation of the Court is subject to annual auditing by the Auditor of State or a private auditing firm that has been approved by the Auditor of State.

It is a priority of the Willoughby Municipal Court Clerk's office to provide courteous and responsive service to individuals who use the Court and to the agencies and personnel we work with on a daily basis. In addition to responding to numerous public requests for information, the office accepts inquiries from and provides information to the personnel of 10 cities and villages, park districts, a community college district, law enforcement agencies, prosecutors and attorneys, state and county agencies, and community resource providers. The Clerk's office is staffed with educated and experienced personnel who are dedicated to responding to the needs of the public.

In the Willoughby Municipal Court, Chief Deputy Clerk Linda Genzen assists the Clerk of Court, as do 16 experienced full and part-time Deputy Clerks. The Clerk's Office of the Willoughby Municipal Court has two divisions, Criminal/Traffic and Civil/Small Claims. The Criminal/Traffic Division processes all documents filed on approximately 16,000 cases handled annually while the Civil/Small Claims Division performs the same functions on more than 2,800 cases filed annually.
